Portland police pulled over director Gus Van Sant, 54, in December 1996 after noticing his headlights were off at night. After failing sobriety tests (a breath test showed a BAC of 0.19%, more than twice the state's legal limit), he was arrested and charged with drunk driving. Sant was then booked into the Multnomah County jail, where he posed for the mug shot below. The Portland resident was best known for directing Good Will Hunting, in 1997.

Katherine Lambeth, 50, of Cloverhill Drive allowed a man named "G" to borrow her 1980 Oldsmobile, Officer Shawn Haney reported. In exchange, she received from him $50 worth of crack cocaine and a promise to return the car by 5 p.m. last Saturday. When he didn't return the car as promised, she reported her car missing Monday. The car is valued at $1,500.

Tim Allen

The infamous Tim "the Tool Man" Allen was arrested and charged with drunk driving in May 1997 in Bloomfield Township, Michigan. Police say that he nearly fell over and couldn't count during a sobriety test. His sentence included a fine and mandatory counseling. But Allen is no stranger to the law-he was arrested in October 1978 in Detroit, Michigan for his part in a small drug dealing ring, charges for which he received a reduced sentence after "turning state's evidence" and ratting out his colleagues.
