Charges were later dropped as Herman pleaded guilty to a lesser misdemeanor obscenity charge. The 56-year-old actor had been arrested previously in Florida in July 1991 after being caught masturbating in an adult movie house. His sentence included fines, court costs, and the production of an anti-drug public service announcement.
