Police say a cabdriver didn't have any Mace or pepper spray when he was attacked by a knife-wielding passenger, so he improvised and sprayed the would-be robber in the face with an aerosol deodorant.
Elgin Deputy Police Chief Jeff Swoboda said the 51-year-old cabbie, whom he declined to identify, picked up the passenger early Thursday morning outside the Grand Victoria Casino.

Diddy" Combs also known as Shyne, was sentenced to 10 years in prison in April 2002 for assault, gun possession, and reckless endangerment in connection with a December 1999 shooting in a New York City nightclub.
