Counterfeit Alert: Chinese Writing A Dead Giveaway On Fake Bills

If your Canadian currency has Chinese writing on it, it's fake.

That's the message RCMP in Campbellton, N.B. had for people in the area on Wednesday, after receiving reports of fake $20 and $100 bills with Chinese writing on them.

Katherine Lambeth, 50, of Cloverhill Drive allowed a man named "G" to borrow her 1980 Oldsmobile, Officer Shawn Haney reported. In exchange, she received from him $50 worth of crack cocaine and a promise to return the car by 5 p.m. last Saturday. When he didn't return the car as promised, she reported her car missing Monday. The car is valued at $1,500.

Police responded to a 911 call from NBA star Ron Artest's wife in March 2007 and subsequently booked the Sacramento Kings forward for spousal abuse. Charged with domestic violence and using force to keep a victim from reporting a crime, Artest was booked into the Placer County jail before being released after posting $50,000 bail.
