After a night of drinking, a University of Florida student broke into a house and decided to take a nap with a broom, according to police.
Christian Chambers Kobes, 20, used the broom to break a window of a Gainesville home at about 5:10 a.m. Thursday, and when he woke up, he told police he had been drinking earlier that night and no memory of breaking into the house.
Two Cabbage Patch dolls, one Chatty Cathy and three other dolls, along with a storage box, were reported missing after a padlock was cut in the basement storage area of a Fisher Road apartment complex.

The official report states that the St. Louis Cardinals' manager was slumped over the wheel of a Ford SUV in an intersection around midnight. After failing field sobriety tests, the 62-year-old LaRussa was transported to the Palm Beach County Jail, where Breathalyzer tests showed his blood alcohol content to be .093 - above Florida's .08 legal limit. LaRussa posted $500 bond and was released.
