Police in Chicago said they used a system activated in a stolen iPhone to track down a thief accused of stealing three of the devices.
Chicago police news affairs officer Veejay Zala said the 17-year-old suspect fled on foot after grabbing the phones three children set down while playing outside, the Chicago Tribune reported Monday.
Zala said a sergeant used a tracking system installed on one of the phones to track down the suspect and retrieve the devices.
Police said charges were pending against the teenage suspect.

State police said the 75-year-old actor was visibly intoxicated and refused a Breathalyzer test. He was later quoted as saying "I love New York" after being acquitted in a juried trial.
