A man was arrested Thursday following allegations he tried to steal money from a bank after hours and fired a bullet into the unoccupied building.
Shahid Mohammed Kalam, 22, of 26460 Croft Lane, deposited a $1,000 stolen or forged check at 3 a.m. at the Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union and then attempted to withdraw cash from the automated-teller machine, according to the Brooksville Police Department.
Police were told a man was "taking a bath" in a fountain in a shopping area at 2201 Pillsbury Ave.
