New Mexico corrections officers say an inmate escaped his jail cell by breaking a window bar with a razor blade and a Popsicle stick but changed his mind once he got outside.
Carlos Garcia told police it took about five months to break the bar on his cell window at the Lea County jail with those materials.
Katherine Lambeth, 50, of Cloverhill Drive allowed a man named "G" to borrow her 1980 Oldsmobile, Officer Shawn Haney reported. In exchange, she received from him $50 worth of crack cocaine and a promise to return the car by 5 p.m. last Saturday. When he didn't return the car as promised, she reported her car missing Monday. The car is valued at $1,500.
