A thief unwittingly turned himself in after leaving his wallet behind after leaving a Dayton store.
Police said they were dispatched to Dollar General on 2312 N. Main St. in Dayton around 8 a.m. Saturday, and found a wallet left behind by one of the suspects. Police found several items with the suspect's name on them, including a photo ID.
Police spotted a fire crew hooking their hose into a hydrant and filling a private swimming pool with water, authorities said.
Police responded to a 911 call from NBA star Ron Artest's wife in March 2007 and subsequently booked the Sacramento Kings forward for spousal abuse. Charged with domestic violence and using force to keep a victim from reporting a crime, Artest was booked into the Placer County jail before being released after posting $50,000 bail.
